Powerhouse Factories' Bio
Powerhouse Factories is a group of designers, printmakers, and multi-discipline artists whose goal is to bring art to the masses. Functioning as a design firm and print shop, Powerhouse began in 2004, in a restored 19th Century building in Covington, Kentucky where we worked, lived, and played. The screen-printed propaganda art we experimented with in college became the basis for our work at Powerhouse.
Four years later, we have moved to an even slicker space in Newport, Kentucky as well as a more professional direction with our work. Our current focus is on dynamic design projects for national companies, which is driven by the success of our rock posters. Building on that success we will continue to create new posters for new venues and musical artists.
The gig poster scene has been inspirational and supportive for us—both as businesspersons and artists. We use it as a creative outlet—it keeps our ideas fresh and provides a contrast from our daily corporate design work. Having our finger on the pulse of creativity in the music scene also helps distinguish our work from other design firms.
Powerhouse eagerly attacks all projects and contracts, including package design, brand identity, retail / environmental design, and screen-printed posters.
